The government has also drafted the policy on July 30 to create a regulator for the online sector.

The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer has created a new guideline for e-commerce, whereby now the fake rating of the product has been duplicated and legal steps will be taken to prevent this from unfair business practice.

All the Committees of the task force made to fix an e-commerce policy have submitted their report to the ministry. The Ministry of Commerce and Consumer Affairs has prepared these guidelines.

These are the new guides

If a product is bogus or a damaged, then the e-commerce portal along with the seller will also be responsible for it.
The company or the seller will refund the customer within 14 days upon arrival of the bad, inaccurate or broken items to the customer.
The customer's complaint must be completely resolved within 30 days.
According to the details given on the portal, the customer will have the right to return the goods if the goods are not available.
It will be necessary to give the seller's full address and contact number on the online portal. It is very important to put the complete information on the refund and replacement policy on the website clearly.
In the new bill, the companies will have to guarantee to keep the customer data safe too. Also, there is a proposal to create a new Consumer Protection Authority under the bill.
Let us know that complaints against e-commerce companies have increased by 42 percent over the previous financial year 2016-17. The government is going to take strict action due to these complaints. In addition to delays in delivery, wrong product returns, and replacement, complaints are also increasing day by day regarding refunds.
